SDP Holds Congress In Delta State 

The Social Democratic Party SDP, in Delta State has held its congress with a strong admonition to the new executives and members of the party to commence aggressive membership drive ahead of the 2023 general elections.

National Legal Adviser of the party, Barr. Joseph Abu, Chairman of the Congress Committee, who addressed the delegates drawn from the 25 LGAs of the state in Asaba, charged faithful to ensure victory of the party in the general elections saying that it can only be possible through aggressive campaign and marketing of the SDP programmes to the electorate.

He noted with pain that Nigeria was in dare need of good governance which he stated was the vision of SDP, adding that SDP is ready to rescued the nation from imminent collapse.


On his part, Ambassador Oke Idawene  who was returned for a second term in office, promised to continue to demonstrate quality leadership to the party in the state even as he challenged all the executive committee members to be dedicated and focused towards the success of the party in Delta State.

“I thank you for the confidence reposed on me, i will not discriminate in my leadership style, and i will not disappoint you no matter any circumstances. We will ensure a level playing field for all the aspirants including new members. Now is the time for SDP to shine because Nigerians need us now.

“APC and PDP have disappointed Nigerians and that is the more reason we must close ranks to work for the victory of the party in our various communities. In 2023, i can assure you that SDP will take over the government of Delta State. Nigerians need us and we cannot afford to fail.” He stated.

The officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, were on ground to monitor the state congress.
