Ezewu, Oghoro Visit ICE Centres In Delta

As part of her efforts to accord the Delta State Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) its pride of place, the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has visited centres of the institute at Ogwuashi-Uku and Agbor in Aniocha South and Ika South Local Government Areas respectively.

Speaking during the visit , Mrs. Ezewu said that the State Government through the ministry of Basic and Secondary Education would ensure a better learning environment in the institute.

While commending the staff of the centres for their resilience and commitments to duty , Mrs. Ezewu urged them to always sustain their efforts towards ensuring that they continued to achieve success even as she assured them that the State Government would prioritise their welfare at all times.

At Agbor Centre, the zonal Head of the Institution, Pastor Esadjere M. C lauded the commissioner and her team for the visit, adding that the institution would always interface and work with the ministry in order to contribute more meaningfully to the growth and development of the state.

He thanked the State Governor for merging the institution with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, just as he listed some of the challenges of the institution to the commissioner and appealed to the Ministry to come to the aid of the institution.

Similarly, the Head of Ogwashi-Uku Centre, Mrs Edith Okonkwo described the visit of the commissioner as a step in the right direction, explaining that the Institution had been confronted with several challenges that required the urgent attention of the Ministry to enable the centre function optimally.

The commissioner was accompanied during the visit by the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro and the Acting Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Mr. Onyema Edwin Chukwuma.
