Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, Dfcism, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, has said that the governor of Delta State, Rt Hon (Elder) Francis Oborevwori, appreciate the mandate given to him by the good people of the state, and cannot lose focus achieving his electioneering campaigns promises as contained in the M.O.R.E agenda.
Oghenesivbe gave the assurance on Tuesday in Asaba, while speaking as guest of NTA public affairs live programme, saying that those eronously alleging that Oborevwori administration is more or less an indirect third team agenda of the immediate past governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, are in a hurry by projecting such premature conclusion.
He noted that governor Oborevwori is barely two weeks in office, and that it was obviously too early for any right thinking individual to criticize his actions and inactions, assuring that the governor has the willpower and courage to determine his own leadership style to serve the people without blemish.
On job and wealth creation, Oghenesivbe who was the spokesperson of Delta PDP Campaign Council in the just concluded general elections, appealed to wealthy individuals in the state, multinational oil companies and the private sector operators to partner Oborevwori administration to adequately fund the various youth vocational training, skills aquisition and empowerment programmes, so as to raise more youth entrepreneurs in the state.
He noted that upscaling prosperity and peaceful coexistence will attract local and foreign investors to the state, while urging the state governor and the government to introduce investors-friendly reforms; such as attractive incentives, tax holidays and transparent one-stop Secretariat to eradicate complex bureaucratic processes for local and foreign investors.
“I read some subtle attacks on the governor in the social media space over the weekend, and I verily believe that it was too early to make such moves.
“Governor Oborevwori is barely two weeks in the saddle, he’s yet to constitute his cabinet. I am of the opinion that he should be given reasonable time before reviewing his performance and leadership style.
“Oborevwori knew those who honestly worked with him from the scratch to victory at the polls. He cannot forget those who laid their lives down to project his governorship ambition. He’s a Christian and a good one at that.
“I plead with all stakeholders to be patient and continue to support the governor without negative insinuations. Frankly speaking, It’s too early to criticize him at this time.
“The governor is committed to deliver on his electioneering campaigns promises, and obviously has the political willpower to adopt his own leadership style, provided that his actions and inactions is for the common good of all Deltans.
“It is also very important for wealthy individuals, multinational oil companies and private sector operators to partner Oborevwori administration in job and wealth creation, as well as other productive sectors of the state economy under their Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, policies and budgets.
“The youth empowerment programmes must of a necessity be the responsibility of all well meaning Deltans and companies doing business in the state. Government should reach out to them and form a common synergy to take more of our youth from the congested labour market occasioned by the misrule of APC national government.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Oborevwori administration will succeed, which is why we must all continue to support the governor to deliver substantial dividends of democracy to our people.
“He promise to listen more, do more and achieve more under his leadership; bring about uncommon transformation in the area of strategic social investments, socioeconomic reforms, infrastructure and human capital development across the three senatorial districts,” Oghenesivbe said.
