Okpe ladies Vanguard, a Cultural and a Political Pressure group in Delta State, south-south Nigeria has expressed grief over the sudden demise of an Okpe renowned businessman, politician and philanthropist, Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule, the Erhi of Okpe Kingdom.
The group in a condolence message signed by the President, Hon Chief Dora Afonughe Sakpaide (JP) commiserated with the good people of Sapele LGA, Okpe Kingdom and Urhobo nation over the death of the grassroots politician and community leader.
While eulogizing the life and time of Chief Obule, who was one time Delta State Gubernatorial Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in 2007, Okpe ladies Vanguard said Nigeria has lost an iconic man both in business and politics.
Chief Sakpaide said, Chief Obule whose death news filtered into the air on Tuesday after a protracted illness at the age of 65, came to them as.great shock and surprised.
The President said until Chief Obule’s death, he was the head of Ezesi ruling house in Okpe kingdom, an astute lawyer, famus businessman and grassroot politician who excelled in all his endeavors.
Chief Sakpaide observed that late Chief
Obule who was a humanist par excellence especially through his humanitarian services such as Obule Group of Schools and Medical Centre known for quality education and healthcare delivery to the residents of Okpe and beyond at a hugely subsidised rate, can’t be forgotten.
The group however prayed God’s comfort and strength for the bereaved family and all those whose lives he has touched to find solace in the Lord and God grant the deceased soul enternal rest. Amen.
