The Delta State House of Assembly will on Sunday, June 14, 2026, hold a thanksgiving service and reception to mark the 3rd anniversary of the inauguration of the 8th Assembly.
The event is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 34 Headquarters, Unity Model Parish, located behind Junior Staff Quarters, Asaba.
A reception will follow immediately after the service at the Legislators’ Quarters, Okpanam Road, Asaba.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon. Augustine Uroye PhD JP, in a statement, said the thanksgiving is to appreciate God for His guidance and protection over the Assembly in the last three years.
Hon. Uroye, who represents Warri South 1 Constituency, heartily invites Deltans and the general public to the thanksgiving and be part of the celebration.
Meanwhile, the 8th Assembly, under the leadership of Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has remained committed to the three core functions of lawmaking, oversight and representation in line with democratic principles, norms and values.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Nkem Nwaeke, while highlighting the impact of the current Assembly to the growth and development of the state, disclosed that the House has recorded significant legislative achievements since its inauguration, including passage of people-oriented bills and resolutions aimed at good governance, accountability and prosperity of Deltans.
Nwaeke noted further that the present Assembly from the 13th of June 2023, when it was inaugurated has focused on legislative interventions in all sectors of the state economy in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
Guwor’s CPS maintained that the thanksgiving is apt as it will bring together members of the House, staff, families, political stakeholders, and Deltans across the 29 constituencies to give thanks to God for the success story and impactful service.
Nwaeke stressed the need for well meaning Deltans and well wishers, irrespective of political affiliation or religious background to join the Assembly in celebrating God’s faithfulness.
