MULADE CELEBRATES WITH OKUAMA COMMUNITY OVER COURT JUDGMENT, URGES PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

Renowned peace ambassador, environmental rights advocate, and development crusader, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, PhD, has congratulated the people of Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State following the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, which granted relief to detainees in connection with the Okuama military incident.

In a statement made available to journalists, Mulade described the court’s decision as a significant step towards justice, healing, reconciliation, and the restoration of confidence in the rule of law. He noted that the judgment offers renewed hope to affected families and serves as a reminder of the importance of due process and fairness in a democratic society.

The renowned peace and development advocate commended the judiciary for its commitment to justice and urged all stakeholders to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on fostering peace and unity across the state.

According to him, lasting peace remains the most effective pathway to sustainable development, economic growth, and social stability in every community.

Mulade appealed particularly to the people of Okuama to embrace peaceful coexistence and reconciliation with neighbouring communities, stressing that harmony and mutual understanding are essential ingredients for progress and development.

He emphasized that the unfortunate events surrounding the Okuama crisis should serve as a lesson for all communities in Delta State to prioritize dialogue, understanding, and peaceful conflict resolution over violence and confrontation.

The peace ambassador further called on community leaders, youth groups, women, and other stakeholders to work collectively towards rebuilding trust, strengthening relationships, and creating an environment conducive to development and prosperity.

“Peace is the foundation upon which meaningful development is built. I therefore urge the good people of Okuama and their neighbours to seize this opportunity to deepen reconciliation, promote unity, and work together for the collective advancement of their communities and Delta State at large,” Mulade stated.

He expressed optimism that with genuine commitment to peace, forgiveness, and mutual respect, the communities involved would emerge stronger and more united, paving the way for sustainable development and a brighter future for coming generations.

Mulade also prayed for continued peace, security, and progress in Delta State and the Niger Delta region, while encouraging all residents to remain steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote harmony, justice, and development.
