Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Saturday congratulated the government and good people of Benue State on the occasion of the state’s Golden Jubilee.
Represented at the event by the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Governor Oborevwori conveyed the goodwill message of the Government and people of Delta State to the Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on the historic milestone.
According to him, the celebration was a fitting tribute to Benue State’s remarkable journey of growth, resilience, and development over the past five decades.
“On behalf of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, I extend the warm felicitations of the Government and people of Delta State to His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State, on this historic Golden Jubilee celebration”, Guwor said.
He commended Governor Alia for the developmental strides recorded under his administration, expressing optimism that the state would continue on the path of greater achievements.
“We acknowledge the remarkable progress Benue State has made under Governor Hyacinth Alia’s leadership and are confident that the years ahead will usher in even greater accomplishments for the state and its people,” he stated.
Guwor noted that the Golden Jubilee not only celebrated Benue State’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant diversity but also reaffirmed its enduring reputation as the “Food Basket of the Nation”.
He prayed for continued peace, unity, prosperity, and sustainable development in the state.
“As Benue State commemorates this Golden Jubilee, let me again congratulate the Government and people of the state and pray that this milestone will usher in greater peace, unity, prosperity, sustainable development, and even more remarkable progress in the years ahead,” Guwor added.
The ceremony attracted several prominent personalities, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, represented by his Chief of Staff, alongside other senior government officials and distinguished dignitaries from across Nigeria.
The Speaker was accompanied by the Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Engr Michael Anoka and MD of Tantita Security Services, Chief Kestin Pondi, among others.
