LG Polls: Delta IPAC Denies Endorsing DSIEC

Leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC), Delta State chapter, has refuted a publication made by online medium, “News Den”, that the association has endorsed the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) and other political parties ahead of March 6, 2021 local government election in the state.

The IPAC state chairman, Comrade Emeka Bidokwu, made this known to newsmen in a statement on Tuesday in Asaba, the state capital.

Comrade Bidokwu, who is also the Delta state chairman of Action Alliance (AA), said IPAC as the umbrella group of registered political parties in Delta State only commended DSIEC for early preparations as they would enhance the conduct of hitch-free and acceptable polls.

There was never a time that the association endorsed DSIEC or any political parties ahead of the local government polls, Comrade Bidokwu stressed.

He however urged the publisher of the online publication to tender unreserved apology for using the name of IPAC Delta state to misinform the general public.

The association also rechoed her call on the state electoral umpire to initiate measures that would engender a free atmosphere for political parties to express themselves unencumbered.
