The Delta State Chapter of the the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said the first 100 days of Governor Sheriff Oborovwori in office is with remarkable achievements.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Chairman Comrade Emeka Bidokwu made available to newsmen on Wednesday 6th September, 2023 on behalf of the 18 registered political parties in the state.
While x-raying the Governor’s M.O.R.E AGENDA template for the development of the state, expressed satisfaction with his 100 days achievements as the governor of the oil rich state in Nigeria.
“As for we, the umbrella body of political party in Delta state, we are overwhelmed with the over two thousand recruitments of primary school teachers and none teaching staff that the Governor approved for the 23 out of the 25 local government areas of the state due to shortage of man power.
Another milestone was the N40 billion facility loan to local government chairmen to pay retirees their backlog salaries among other entitlements to the staff of the local government areas.
The Delta state government under the leadership of Sheriff Oborovwori has also commenced palliative payment to civil servants in the state as well as adopting mechanism to reach out to none former sector of the state as part of measures to cushion the impacts of the petrol subsidy removal on residents of the state by the federal government.
Governor Oborovwori within the 100 days has relatively advanced the peace and security of the state, thereby promoting peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the state.
This peace enshrined in our various communities was due to his MORE Agenda that he promised Deltans during his electioneering era.
Under the 100 days, Governor Oborovwori has been able to improve the infrastructural status of the state especially on the Warri axis where rehabilitation of roads where carried out and approved granted for construction of more roads across the state.
This goes to show that Governor Oborovwori 100 days in office remain outstanding and massive projects mapped out for inauguration to celebrate 100 days across the three political zones in the state.
We however urged citizens of the state to support the administration to implement more people-oriented programmes.
IPAC further noted that the calibre and composition of the Governor’s political appointees, especially Commissioners who are mostly youths shown the high level of youth inclusiveness in his administration.
“These appointees have the professional requirements and competence to move the state to greater heights.
The statement observed that no sooner had the Governor assumed office that he flagged off some of these achievable projects and the projects have been evenly distributed in all the senatorial districts of the state to ensure that all sections of the state are given democratic dividends.
“We wish to admonish members of the state assembly to work collectively and harmoniously with the executive arm of government to advance the cause of citizenry through the enactment of laws and passage of resolutions and motions geared towards the advancement of the state and it’s people,” it stated
Meanwhile, “as IPAC, we believed strongly that the beauty of democracy is all about checks and balances. On our part, we have promised to support the governor in the area where is doing extremely well and come up with constructive criticism in where we found him not doing well.
The body also applauded him for his all inclusive government thus far and plead with him to do More for the people of the state.
