DELTA 2027 RACE: FORMER DELTA SPEAKER AND ED NIMASA VICTOR OCHEI RESIGNS FROM APC

​Former Executive Director of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and one-time Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, has officially resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

​In a statement released by his media aide, Austin Edemodu, Mr. Ochei disclosed that the decision was reached following extensive consultations with his political associates and stakeholders.

​Reflecting on his decade-long journey with the party since joining in 2016, Mr. Ochei highlighted his contributions toward promoting youth inclusion, women’s participation, and the deepening of democratic tenets.

​He clarified that his departure is devoid of malice, stating that the move is aimed at pursuing broader political growth and ensuring that political institutions remain responsive to the aspirations of the Nigerian people.

​Mr. Ochei expressed appreciation to the party leadership and his supporters, urging them to remain peaceful and steadfast in their commitment to democratic ideals as he prepares for his next political step.
