Delta Speaker Hails Oborevwori, Okowa’s Appointment Into APC Presidential Campaign Counci
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the immediate past Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, on their appointment as members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council.
The Speaker, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, described the appointments as a recognition of the leadership qualities, wealth of experience and contributions of the two leaders to the development of the State and the country.
Rt. Hon. Guwor said the appointments were a great honour not only to the Governor and Senator Okowa as individuals, but also to Delta State, stressing that their inclusion underscored the confidence reposed in their capacity to deliver on national assignments.
He noted that both leaders had distinguished themselves in public service and had continued to demonstrate commitment to the unity, peace, development and progress of the nation.
“I warmly congratulate our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and our immediate past Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on their well-deserved appointments as members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
“This is a significant recognition of their leadership qualities, experience and contributions to governance. Their appointments are also a source of pride to all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliations”, Guwor stated.
The Speaker further stated that Governor Oborevwori has continued to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership through his MORE Agenda, while Senator Okowa brought his wealth of experience to bear during his tenure as Governor and had continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Rt. Hon. Guwor expressed confidence that the two Delta leaders would bring their ever thriving wealth of experience, political maturity and understanding of national issues to bear on the responsibilities before them.
He urged them to see the appointment as an opportunity to further contribute to the strengthening of democracy and the advancement of the interests of Nigerians.
“I am confident that His Excellencies will deploy their vast experience and leadership capacity to the success of the assignment. Their track records speak for them, and I have no doubt that they will add immense value to the campaign council.
“On behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, I wish them wisdom, strength and success as they take on this important national responsibility”. he added.
The Speaker further called on Deltans to continue to support the Governor and other leaders of the State in their efforts to attract development, promote peace and advance the interests of the people.
