A Niger Delta human rights activist, Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade has urged Deltans to support the State Government’s effort to curb the spread of the killer coronavirus disease, Covid-19.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Warri on Thursday, April 3, Chief Sheriff Mulade who is the Ibe-sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, condemned the incident that led to the death of one Mr. Joseph Pessu in Warri.
While sympathizing with the family of the slain Warri youth, Comrade Mulade urged Deltans to cooperate with security operatives during the 14 days stay at home, as everyone is duty bound to carry out government directives especially in enforcing the restriction of movement to prevent the spread of covid-19 virus into Delta State.
He commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the measures put in place to ensure adequate security during the stay-at-home precautionary period, to curb the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
He strongly appealed to Nigerians particularly Deltans to be vigilant and share useful information with relevant authorities, especially Government, security agencies to rid the State of criminally minded opportunists.
