Gov Okowa To Flag Off Communication Workshop, Dec 8 In Asaba

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, will on Tuesday, 8th December flag off the second edition of the state strategic communication workshop, with the theme “Effective Communication and Media Crisis Management In Governance: Challenges And Solutions.”

The three days brain storming exercise is a capacity building programme for media aides to the governor, media partners, government spokespersons, journalists, social media influencers and bloggers.

A statement by the Workshop coordinator and Executive Assistant to the governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said a total of 150 participants have been registered for the workshop scheduled to hold at Orchid Hotel, DBS Road, Asaba from 8th to 10th December, 2020.

He disclosed that only duly registered members who have been added to the Workshop WhatsApp group are to attend, adding that no gate-crashing, and that Covid-19 protocol will be strictly observed throughout the duration of the workshop.

The workshop is being organised by the office of the Executive Assistant (Communications) to the Governor in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

“Dignitaries expected at the flag off ceremony includes; the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, JP, Secretary to the State Government, Chiedu Ebie, Esq, Delta Head of Service, Reginald Bayoko, Chief of Staff, Government House, Olorogun David Edevbie, Political Adviser to PDP National Chairman and Chairman, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Ighoyota Amori.

Others are; Delta Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Peter Mrakpor, Esq, Delta Commissioner for Information, Hon Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, Honourable Commissioners, Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tony Okowa and other top government functionaries.

“Emeritus Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism, Prof Raph Akinfeleye will be the chief trainer at the workshop, to be assisted by Prof Godwin Oboh, Dr Emmanuel Biri, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan and Sir Mike Oputa,” Oghenesivbe said.
