Security: Delta Lawmaker Ighrakpata Condemns Abduction Of Two Teachers In Uvwie

The member representing the Uvwie constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, has condemned Tuesday’s abduction of two teachers at Ohorhe secondary school, in Uvwie local government area of Delta State.

Hon Ighrakpata, who is the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, while reacting to the incident, described it as unfortunate and capable of affecting effective teaching and learning because of the fear it would instill in the teachers and students.

The Lawmaker challenged the law enforcement agencies to quickly mobilize to secure the release of the victim’s unhurt and apprehend the culprits.

He spoke against the involvement of youths in crime, stressing that the state government had put in place policies and programnes aimed at meaningfully engaging the youths for productive ventures.

Hon Ighrakpata urged parents to show greater commitment to the upbringing of their children and monitor their kind of friends to save them from engaging in criminal activities.

The Uvwie Lawmaker stated that it is only secured environment that development can thrive.
